Place de Léry - Bathroom

Project details

This bathroom was completely gutted. It was dated, had plumbing issues, was too small, and the client didn't want a window for sanitary reasons.

Client wish list: clean, bright, plenty of storage, and a place to put down a few candles and their glass of wine at the end of a long day; a space that was both functional for their young family but could also feel serene.

Large, light grey tile made the room feel bigger and brighter; all the furniture was kept light. All the storage furniture floats above the floor, making cleaning a breeze, but also giving the client more areas to place step stools or any other less-than-aesthetic child accessories out of sight.

The accent wall was the perfect opportunity to make sure the renovation didn't feel too "new" and out of place in an older home; an artisanal tile was the key to achieving that effect. Lighting from the recessed ceiling not only plays up the organic lines of the feature wall, but serves as mood lighting and convenient night light.

Results

The project still has some elements under construction but is so far a great success. The alcove with LED lighting was an added cost but the client has said that it brings them peace when they want to unwind at the end of the day, and an unexpected source of entertainment for the children, who amuse themselves by changing the colours remotely. Who knew!
